Blog Roll

Reprimand

June 22, 2011

Of myself and my bad BAD blogging habits. I don’t know what it is. I am a lazy blogger. There, I said it. There are things I want to say, but I want to dictate it and have somebody else write it. Does that make me a turd? I have funny things to share but I am too lazy to put fingers on the keyboard and ass in chair and churn it out each day.

So, here I am reprimanding my own damn self, live in front of a cyber audience of, uh maybe nobody. LOL

After my dog died, something inside me died too and I didn’t care about sharing or being upbeat or anything. I kind of still don’t. Is that too honest? To “Weird Stuff In My Desk” for everybody?

Do you ever just get stuck in a rut, move in and decorate it? Well that is where I am right now. And my rut is looking like the Palais Royale. :D

Derby Bead Madness And A Couple of Discount Codes

May 13, 2011

Woohoo! Well, we got back from our LONGGGGG trip to the home of the KY Derby and apparently cool small bead tours, fairly unscathed. That cannot be said for our pocket book though. lol I apologize for not posting this sooner, it has been a wickedly long week. As you can see, I am posting this at 3:10 am when I should be in bed if that gives you any idea how crazy it has been.

We started out our journey a bit later than I would have liked and of course I ALWAYS forget that we are in a different time zone so didn’t factor that in for the travel time. Hit McNasty’s for a hockey puck breakfast. Here’s where I made my first mistake. They have this new drink (new to me since I don’t go out much or eat there much) froze strawberry lemonade. I thought to myself “self, that looks good for a long drive”. So, I get that instead of coffee which I really wanted one of those vanilla coffees or something. Anything that resembles a latte balms my sore Seattle heart. But I knew better than to drink coffee before starting on that long 3.5 hour journey. Besides my cardiologist BITCHES when I don’t follow orders. Sheez the nerve.

Apparently the strawberry gunk is made with sugar and red dye (die) number 800687. Which they had glopped all over the bottom of the cup. I stirred it up some, but thought hey they know what they are doing right? OMFG puke on stick.gag.a.cat.with.a.dog.on.top.of.a.goat.lickin.SOB. that stuff was nasty! I could taste the chemicals in the DYE! Thank goodness I had water and plenty of it. So I gagged and stirred and stirred and stirred, thinking surely this must mix together and be better.

The best part of the drink was throwing it the hell away. Product not recommended unless you have had your taste buds surgically removed.

Okay so you know we have been having severe flooding down here in KY. Well, it is really REALLY bad, I spent a lot of time oohing and ahhing over the water being so high and moving around and talking with my arms. So much so that I made myself car sick. So we had to stop for emergency Dramamine. LOL I know better than to do that. Leave home without the pills and to make too much motion with my lips and arms in the car.

On the road again we make it in great time, and get in and hit the tables, we had a perfect amount of time. The people running the show were very helpful and nice. The prices were great and we bought some very cool beads and findings that you will see made into cool creations on our new jewelry site http://acharmingtime.com very soon.

Here’s a picture of the bead stash. My favorite were some oval dragon’s blood beads and carved jade beads. I saw lots of new things I had never seen before. I have been working with gemstones since about 1997 or so. That was pretty cool. I found a few names for pieces that had come my way that I couldn’t place, which is great!

All in all it was a great trip with the family, very productive. We made another stop which I hope to blog about this weekend <read rant and roll>.

So, the title of the post promised discount codes. Since you are all new to our jewelry store here ‘s an incentive to do some shopping!

We are currently offering a 15% discount code: BNRONE15off
or
Free Shipping Code: BNRONEfreeship

Orders ship within 48 hours or less.

Off To The Bead Show!

May 10, 2011

Well, I am sneaking a quick post in while the guys load up the van. We are driving 3.5 hours to a small bead show in the big city! It should be fun, it is put on by Rings N’ Things and is a wholesale “show”. So there should be some cool stuff. I hope to find some unique things for our jewelry making endeavors.

So, Catch you all on the flip side!

Osama Bin La…is NAHHHHH

May 3, 2011

Not even going to talk about this. Over done, to much hype on all sides. What are you all up to this week? I have been super busy, hence no post Sunday or Monday. Maybe I will take Sundays off. I am going to be out of pocket several days. Who the hell says “out of pocket” anymore? Flash back to 90′s corporate. Whoohhoo somebody hand me a martoooniii I think I’m gonna be sick. LOL So, posting may be a bit thin this week. That’s the only thing thin in my world let me tell ya sisters and brothers. yuck yucka yuck..

For those of you are going to need a well deserved break at work, I am going to be guest blogging over at the awesome house of blogging also known as http://www.graspingforthewind.com/ owned by the amazing John Ottinger III. I’m scheduled for May 4 at noon EST. Here is the link (which won’t work until the post goes live).

I won’t tell you what it is about, but I will tell you it is funny and I am giving something away. Something SHINY. *snort* I hope you can make it, I worked very hard on my blog post and have been saving it for a very special occasion. It is a true honor to be allowed to play at the house of chez Ottinger the III.
I have some jewelry news, will talk about that in another post.
What about you? What’s shaking your week down?

Savoring Saturday

April 30, 2011

Friday was a no blog day because of the Kidney stone of doom. I slept and then later at night well during the witching hour (which some say it is all 24 of them for me :D _) I read. It was also when I had the Hagen Dazs sugar overdose lol.

Of course there is more Great Aunt baby cuteness here in this picture. This is Evelyn meeting her new little sister Jillian. OMG how darn cute is that. Evelyn is just enraptured by her. Have you ever seen anyting so cute?

So, early Saturday in the wee hours I spent my time dozing and reading a new book that is going to be coming out by author Melissa de La Cruz called Witches of East End this is going to be a new adult series for her. Melissa primarily only writes young adult paranormal books. I finished the book in an evening/morning. It was pretty damn good. I haven’t read her Blue Bloods YA series so I don’t have anything to compare her previous writing to. Which I am glad about. This isn’t a review of the book. Some lucky reviewer is going to take care of that for you. But I will say this is definitely worth picking up. Melissa has created a very unique new spin on witchcraft and created an alternate world that is pretty interesting, passionate without being seedy, mysterious without being too over the top, a world a person could come to love and buy into.

I also played Words With Friends with one friend and a bunch of people I don’t know at all. Won a few games lost several more. It is like Scrabble and it is an iTunes game. I am playing the free version.  It is pretty fun if you can get people to play their moves. I kind of like Lexulous on Facebook more because if somebody is inactive for a long while you can nudge them to play their turn. I really love playing Scrabble. THERE something you may not have known about me.

Oh! We only had two more unsubscribes over the last day and half or so. I bet we lose a few over the Kidney stone post. LMFAO. :)

What else…. oh yeah! I hope to watch the current episode of Sanctuary that aired last Monday. We didn’t know it changed days, so I am hoping the DVR caught it. We watched the episode from the week before last night. Because thanks to the fucking hackers getting past the “thank you SONY PS3 for keeping our credit card data and personal data safe from dickwads” we couldn’t watch bones or netflix. Though I do suppose I could hook up to my laptop. I have the “CORD” I can never remember the name of it. Maybe I will do that!

DH has to work all weekend so I am on my own again. Which funnily enough is the name of one of his songs. Hey, maybe that isn’t so funny….hmmmm :D

So that’s a wrap!

What are you doing for Saturday? Any of you watching Sanctuary? What books are you reading? Or playing Words With Friends or other favorite online games?
